Autumn Activities in Oriental

Fall is a great time to visit Oriental. By the end of October the mosquitoes have finally cleared out for the season, the weather is mild and usually sunny and the water beckons.

It’s a quieter time in our little fishing village but there is still plenty to do. The Oriental Theatre will present “Hot Dames, Hot Lead” by Jim Gustafson November 4th, 5th and 6th. Tickets are $14 and may be purchased at various shops in town.

Bow To Stern Yacht Services offers sailing tours on the mightly Neuse River. Call Captain Jim Edwards at 252 671-9494 to schedule a cruise.

The Neuse River Winery is open with wine tastings offered every Thursday, Friday and Sturday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Browse their unique selection of gifts in the tasting room or take a stroll among the rows of vines.

And of course, the Oriental Farmer’s Market is still going strong every Saturday morning starting at 8:00 a.m. This is a great time to come down, jump on one of our courtesy bicycles and take a scenic ride through the village – we’ll look for you!
